Of the mountains this morning! It was bright and clear, if a bit cold (-16 C / 3.2F) when I got up. Clouds are obscuring the mountains now, but it’s still clear here in town. So nice to have full sun, it’s been pretty cloudy lately. Should make the cats happy, they get grumpy when they can’t find a sunbeam to lay in.

Going to get some studio time in this afternoon. The break yesterday gave me some pondering time and I realized I was making more of the skirt/bodice mismatch than it really was. I have a fairly simple solution and I’ll get to drafting/altering the pattern pieces today.

In other news, the latest test knit has been coming along very well. I do have to make sure to take it in smaller chunks, the bigger needles and bulkier yarn is a bit hard on my hands, but the lager gauge means it knits up so quickly. I have hit a small snag, when I rounded up what supplies I’d need, I couldn’t find DPN’s in the correct size(s). A problem for future me, I decided. Well the future is now and the me of it has to figure out a solution. Sigh. Guess I need to go watch a tutorial or two on Magic Loop.

February 14 - International Book giving day - do you like giving books as gifts? When was the last time you did that?

I do, or rather did. We don’t do much in the way of gift giving any more. Last few moves showed we all have way too much stuff! I did give Thing Two all of my crochet books (technically second hand, but never used) a couple of months ago, so that sorta counts.
