A Whole bunch

All at once.

So much for the daily blogging habit. Life got interesting and I just didn’t think about it. I considered just skipping over the missed days, but instead I think I’ll do a few every day (that I actually blog) between now and the end of the month (year!!!).

Today: December 24 – Christmas Eve: Christmas Eve is filled with both religious and nonreligious traditions and a variety of foods. What are some of your holiday traditions? How did they begin?

We used to have a lot more, but most of our traditions have fallen by the wayside over the past few years. Not having small children and with us scattered over several provinces and two countries, celebrations are pretty low key these days. When the Things were younger there was a tradition of opening one(1) present Christmas Eve- always a new pair of pj’s (so Christmas morning photos were decent). We also used to do a big family dinner Christmas Eve, my Mom and her sister took turns most years one doing Christmas Eve, one doing Christmas Day. The adult children contributed sides/dessert/drinks, but they did the main course.

December 9 – Christmas Card Day: Do you send Christmas/holiday cards? How many do you send? Do you receive many cards?

Sometimes we do, used to do it every year and sent out dozens. Now if we actually get around to it, it’s only a handful. And nope, not anymore. Lost contact with a lot of people over the years, too many job changes/household moves for everyone.

December 10 – World Choral Day: Have you ever sung in a choir?

Yep, church choir in elementary school. Probably a bad idea as I can’t carry a tune in a bucket. I was very enthusiastic though.

December 11 – Stretching Day: How flexible are you? Do you do any stretching or flexibility exercises regularly?

I am old and creaky and not that flexible. Honestly never have been, in spite of gymnastics, dance, synchronized swimming and other classes over the years. And the most stretching I do these days is reaching for stuff on the second shelf of the kitchen cupboards (I am short).

December 12 – Gingerbread House Day: Have you ever made a gingerbread house? How did it turn out?

Oddly enough, no I haven’t.

P.S.  Don't know about the city, but our town is having a white (and icy) Christmas.
